Are Klein ISD School Police Officers really Police Officers?
Yes, Klein ISD Police Officers are really Police Officers. They are commissioned by the Board of Trustees of the District. The authority to commission police officers comes from the Texas Education Code under section 37.081. The Board of Trustees sets the jurisdiction and scope of duties for school district police. School District police are authorized to enforce all laws and may arrest individuals found in violation of those laws. Additionally, officers may write citations for appropriate offenses that are covered by State law including offenses listed in the Texas Education Code. These citations are filed with the appropriate Justice of the Peace.
Who do Klein School District Officers work for?
Klein ISD Officers work for the district that commissions them. Under the Education Code of the State of Texas, school district police officers are supervised by the Chief of Police of the district. This matter falls under 37.081 of the Texas Education Code. The Police Chief answers to the Superintendent.
What do Klein School District Officers do?
Klein ISD Officers answer calls for service as well as other functions. Some officers are assigned to a particular campus. Others work out of their patrol vehicle and respond to calls in various locations throughout the district. Officers perform traditional enforcement duties, are involved with prevention and education strategies of the district.
What do I do about bullies?
It's unfortunate that anyone should have to deal with a bully. If you do encounter a bully, don't confront them, but report the incident directly to your teacher/principal.
How does someone report an incident?
They may call the Klein ISD Police Dispatcher at (832) 249-4266, 24-hours a day. The report will be given to an officer who will respond to the matter.

Can I use tobacco products or e-cigarretes on school property?
No you can’t use tobacco products or e-cigarettes on school property,
(a)  In this section, "e-cigarette" has the meaning assigned by Section
161.081, Health and Safety Code.

(b)  The board of trustees of a school district shall:
(1)  prohibit smoking or using e-cigarettes or tobacco products at a school-related or school-sanctioned activity on or off school property;
(2)  prohibit students from possessing e-cigarettes or tobacco products at a school-related or school-sanctioned activity on or off school property; and
(3)  ensure that school personnel enforce the policies on school property.
