Applicant Review Committee (ARC)

What is the Applicant Review Committee?
The Applicant Review Committee (ARC) is a cross-functional group of Klein ISD staff members who are selected to review Assistant Principal applications prior to entering the Klein AP P2P Pipeline. 

The ARC is composed of a group of central office and campus-based staff throughout Klein ISD. Campus-based staff will include Teachers, Principals, and Assistant Principals. Central Office staff will include leaders from the Human Resource, Teaching and Learning , and Campus Safety & Support departments.

The ARC is a rotating group of individuals. There are two to three ARC meetings each year and after a year of service, each ARC “refreshes” with new committee members. 
What is the commitment for ARC members?

ARC members will need to make a commitment of 12-17 hours two to three times per year, and an additional 2-3 hours at the beginning of the commitment for training. 

  • 2-3 hours for training 
  • 10-15 hours of reviewing applications and video interviews (can be done remotely) 

  • 2 hours for in-person calibration and decision meeting (must be in person)
How do I join the ARC?

Individuals who wish to serve on the ARC should embody the following traits:

  • Impeccable integrity
  • Unbiased
  • Effective and Thoughtful Communicator
  • Experienced (at least 3 years of experience in Klein ISD)
  • Takes initiative
  • Deep understanding of Profile of a Leader
  • Eagerness and ability to take on a substantial time commitment outside of one’s duties
  • Organized preparedness
