Volunteers

Safety Protocol Guidelines while on campuses:

  • All volunteers need to have completed a background check through the district.
  • All volunteers need to follow safety guidelines of wearing a mask indoors and
also outside where social distancing is not possible.
  • Please check with your school administration, as they best know the safety needs and comfort level of your school. They will guide the level to which volunteers are in a school.

All volunteers must submit a new application each school year

April 1, 2021

Are you ready to have volunteers back in your schools? Well, after what has felt like forever, our schools are ready to have us back too!

We know how great our Klein ISD schools are and we know that having our volunteers involved help make those schools even better. The latest district policies regarding volunteers in schools are what we have been waiting to hear.

KISD would like to welcome volunteers back into our schools to help support the programs that help support our students. This means things like testing helpers, mentor readers, PTO volunteers are now open for business. We are able to use our lists to reach out to our volunteers where our schools need them.

Just a few guidelines to remember:

  • All volunteers need to have completed a background check through the district.
  • All volunteers need to follow safety guidelines of wearing a mask indoors and also outside where social distancing is not possible.
  • Please check with your school administration, as they best know the safety needs and comfort level of your school. They will guide the level to which volunteers are in a school.

What does this mean for activities? There have been a lot of questions about things like field day or 5th and 8th-grade celebrations and volunteer involvement. Under the latest guidelines, families and volunteers would be welcomed at these events if all safety guidelines are followed. We would still encourage these types of events to be held outside as much as possible so there is plenty of room to spread out and maintain a comfortable distance.

Please reach out to your campus principals and your volunteers so we can finish this year strong and start thinking about all the great ways that volunteers can be a part of our school campuses once again in the fall. Also, mark your calendars now for May 3. This is the tentative date for a meeting of KISD volunteers where we hope to gather our volunteer coordinators to brainstorm the best ways we can help out schools.

Thank you,
